Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mia lost her mother at just 10 years old and went to live with strict relatives who loved her, but where she struggled to feel emotionally safe. Even then, prayer became her refuge.

As a single mother of two — including a son diagnosed with mental illness — Mia sought stability and found herself working in law enforcement. Though the job came with challenges, it became a ministry of its own. While answering calls as an officer, she encountered other single moms going through similar battles and found herself praying with them, crying with them, and encouraging them with her own story.

She endured a painful divorce, battled discouragement, and often asked God, “Why here? Why now?” But in every season, His timing proved perfect.
