The SECRET to Always Feel Assured

The promise of God's presence is a foundational truth that brings strength, peace, and transformation to our lives. Jesus assured His disciples in Matthew 28:20 that He would be with them always, and Hebrews 13:5 reinforces this with God’s unwavering declaration that He will never leave nor forsake us—both now and in the future. When we fail to grasp this reality, it can lead to struggles such as depression, lack of confidence, jealousy, repeated sin, and fear of pursuing our God-given dreams. However, embracing the truth that God is always with us brings tremendous benefits. It gives us the courage to step into the great things He has called us to, just as He empowered Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. It also provides peace in the midst of trials, as Jesus reminded us in John 16:33 that though we will face difficulties in this world, we can take heart because He has overcome. Furthermore, Romans 8:31 affirms that if God is for us, nothing can stand against us.

Beyond giving us courage and peace, the revelation of God’s presence also deepens our love for Him, even in times of failure. Many wonder if God is with them when they sin, and the answer is yes—though His mercy should never be mistaken for permission. Jesus demonstrated this in His encounter with the sinful woman in Luke 7:44-47. While the self-righteous Pharisee believed his good deeds would bring God close to him, the woman understood that despite her sinfulness, Jesus had not abandoned her. This revelation led her to express love and worship by washing His feet with her tears and perfume. Her response echoes the truth that those who realize the depth of their forgiveness will love much. As Pope Benedict XVI once said, “God does not abandon us in our struggles; rather, He walks beside us through them.” Understanding that God is always with us transforms not only how we face challenges but also how deeply we love and trust Him.
