EVERY CHRISTIAN Can Have This Power!

We are meant to walk in power through the Holy Spirit! There are two primary works of the Spirit in a Christian's life: regeneration, which transforms a person into a new creation in Christ, and empowerment, which enables them to carry out the works of Jesus. Acts 1:4-8 says that believers will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, equipping them to be witnesses throughout the world. Jesus himself demonstrated this power, as seen in Luke 4:13-14 and Acts 10:38, where He performed miracles through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The early church walked in this same power, fulfilling Christ's words in John 14:12 that those who believe in Him will do even greater works.

Despite this promise, many Christians do not fully experience this empowerment due to ignorance, fear, or a passive approach to receiving the Holy Spirit. In Acts 19:1-7, Paul encounters disciples who had not even heard of the Holy Spirit, highlighting the role of knowledge in receiving this gift. Additionally, fear can prevent believers from stepping into the supernatural work of the Spirit, while a passive attitude may keep them from actively receiving what God has promised. The Greek word for "receive" in Acts 1:8, lambano, implies an active taking hold of the power God offers. The gift of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers, but it must be embraced with faith and expectation.
