Why Should We Trust God With Our Finances?

Feb 23, 2025    Adam McCain

At Hill City Church, we believe that loving God’s house means more than just attending—it means investing our hearts, gifts, and resources into building a place where His glory dwells. Psalm 26:8 reminds us of the deep love we are called to have for His house, a space where believers gather, worship, and experience His presence. Throughout history, God’s people have been directed to prioritize His house, yet distractions and personal pursuits often pull us away. Just as the prophet Haggai challenged the Israelites to reconsider their priorities and rebuild God’s temple, we are called to love His house by committing our time, talents, and finances. Our giving is not just about meeting needs; it is an act of honor and worship, demonstrating our trust in God’s provision and our passion for His mission.

Jesus Himself displayed a consuming zeal for God’s house, emphasizing the importance of stewardship and integrity in how we handle resources. Financial faithfulness is a reflection of our priorities, and Scripture encourages us to be wise managers of what God has entrusted to us. Whether through budgeting wisely, seeking financial wisdom, or praying for God’s provision, our faithfulness in this area allows us to expand the reach of the church—planting more campuses, training more leaders, and making a lasting impact on our city. Hill City Church is more than a building; it is our spiritual family, a legacy for generations to come. Let’s commit to loving this house with our whole hearts, ensuring that all who enter know that God is here in our midst.
