The Unspoken Power of Serving - How Serving Can Change Your Life!

At Hill City, we believe in deepening our love for God's house by recognizing the unique gifts He has given each of us. Scripture teaches that the presence of God dwells where His people gather, and as members of His spiritual family, we are called to love and serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us that our gifts are meant for serving others, faithfully administering God’s grace. Each of us plays a vital role in the body of Christ, as outlined in Romans 12:4-10, where we see that every individual has a unique function that contributes to the strength and unity of the Church. When we use our God-given talents—whether in leadership, encouragement, teaching, or acts of service—we build up the Church and reflect the love of Christ.

However, many hesitate to use their gifts due to shame or arrogance. Some feel unworthy because of their past, while others may believe certain roles are beneath them. Yet, Jesus Himself modeled true servanthood by humbling Himself to wash feet and serve the least among us. Identifying and using our gifts is crucial—not only for the growth of the Church but for our own well-being. Studies have shown that serving others leads to better mental and physical health, reducing stress and increasing fulfillment. At Hill City, we encourage everyone to discover their gifts, find a team, and actively contribute to the success of this house. As Galatians 6:10 says, we are to do good for all, but especially for the family of believers. When we serve with our gifts, we strengthen the Church and ourselves.
